This man -let's call him John- is known for his partypoker emotional outbursts and has a history of violent attacks against players and personnel alike. Now, this regular is involved in a hand and loses a big pot to James. Immediately, he starts complaining in his usual loud manner and questions not just how his opponent has played this hand, but also his abilities as a floorman: to be more concrete, he thinks James is not just a horrible pokerparty player, but a horrible floorman as well.

Because once the tide has turned and you have gotten unlucky a few times in a row, once they have started beating you regularly even though the odds were against it, then suddenly your partypoker opponents feel stronger, and they fear you less because they see you're human just like everybody else. More than that, they know you are vulnerable right now, and this is the time when even ABC-predictable players, who have never posed any serious threat to you, will start making moves on you, trying things they have never tried before.

I don't have to be right a high percentage of the time to give this call a positive expectation. OK, so maybe it's a crying call, but I cannot risk folding the winner: I cannot possibly pass with the pot this big. And then, of course, your pokerparty opponent shows you the big pair he has been representing all along and you knew it, because he always has a big pair when he raises.

Her opponent, unable to beat this, folds his hand, and the dealer pushes the pot towards the lady. When she is asked to open her cards though, it becomes clear that she doesn't have the two hearts she is supposed to have, but a heart and a diamond, for an ace-high only, no-pair hand.

The rise of NL partypoker tables in Casinos

The lions, who are so close that we can almost touch them, are calm and very comfortable. They don't look like they're going to do anything any time soon, other than what they're doing now- which is nothing. Then, suddenly, a third animal enters the fray, it is a gnu. The gnu is unable to see the lions, but the lions have spotted their new friend immediately. It is as if they have a sixth sense for spotting potential prey under all circumstances, even when they are half asleep or relaxing.

I cannot possibly fold. Even if the pokerparty button has the big pair he's representing, I have five cards (three tens, two eights) that will improve my partypoker hand over his; there is $135 in the pot already and it costs me only $10 to call. (A very aggressive player might even reason: hey, I'll re-raise to push the limpers out, get some dead money in the pot and play the hand heads up. Even when I'm behind, I cannot be that far behind).

Some twenty minutes later, I finally play my first hand against a tourist who calls my AK raise holding ace-ten only, and who can't get away from his hand once an ace flops. When the dealer pushes the pot to me, the tourist starts complaining and curses his bad luck for flopping top pair and then losing to his kicker.

A while ago, my girlfriend and I were in South Africa, enjoying a long, exciting and well-deserved holiday. On a couple of occasions, we had the pleasure to visit some of the wild partypoker parks that this country is famous for.
